Couples Communication With Marsinah

This workshop is for you if you need a relationship tune-up, find yourself sometimes stuck in emotional quicksand with your partner, or experience communication problems with your loved one. 

Learn skills to improve communication with your partner through people tested and therapist trained techniques.

This workshop is intended for all couples, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Individuals are also invited if they are seeking ways to enhance the relationship with their significant other, since identifying one’s own relationship-defeating behaviors can be helpful in improving attachment. 

This is a psycho-education and skills-based workshop. The workshop is not intended to offer group or couples counseling. Participants will not be required to share personal relationship details. (We know the Valley!) We encourage participants to share only what is comfortable for them. 

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Marsinah Ramirez Buchan will share with participants the theories and tactics that have helped couples promote healthy and positive relationships. In this workshop, you will: 

• Explore the “systems lens” in order to understand how interpersonal dynamics can positively or negatively affect the relationship behavioral cycle. 
 
• Understand the motivation to change continuum and how it can affect you or your partner’s willingness to change.
 
• Activate the power of you through the cognitive triangle to “right track” your relationship.
 
• Learn effective tactics for couples conflict resolution.

• Acquire skills to improve interpersonal communication through therapist-tested tactics.
